 Panthers                               Blues

 3-7-1 (7p)                                 5-5-1 (11p)

Panthers vs Blues coverage             St. Louis Game Time             Panthers vs Blues preview

Right back at it, on the heels of Steven Reinprecht's four-point night. Two new additions to the Florida lineup for this evening include the flaming-hot Rochester Americans' D Keaton Ellerby and F Victor Oreskovich, in what's become a semi-confusing silver platter of callups and demotions. But for two games, it's begun to show some fruit.

On a personal note, ABC Family Channel ran 1989's Batman earlier today. Cinematic bliss for what ails ya.

Gallagher, Brad, and the entire lineup at St. Louis Game Time are stoked for tonight's matchup as well, so give 'em a whirl. Their club is looking to get on the sunnier side of .500 after a shutout loss to Phoenix(?) on Thursday. Must suck. Geez...five losses?

Can Rhino score another one?  Will Rusty Olesz continue the heroics? Can Ville Koistinen find the Doghouse's emergency exit? What direction will the goaltending go tonight? Will coach Pete finally beat the constipation? Is an ownership struggle on the horizon? And for the love of God...who's looking out for the children?

These answers and more coming up soon. Thanks for dropping in, and Happy Halloween to some of you.

Psyched to see Oreskovich; LetsGoAmerks has been rather high on him since the organization signed him. Two assists last night in the Rochester victory at Binghamton.

Carolina’s lost EIGHT straight. What’s gonna give in Raleigh???

And little help from around the division: ATL beat OTW in regulation while NJ edged TAM…in a shootout, of course.

Hopefully not the Panthers on Wednesday.

Guessing Allen’s appearance means Ellerby’s in the press box…

Yeah. Scratches are Moore, Repik & Ellerby.

Haven’t heard a timetable for the return of Moore yet; presumably his surgery was successful

by Donny Rivette on Oct 31, 2009 8:24 PM EDT up reply actions

…and just like that, Horts is back with Rhino/Stiller. Must’ve caught a midstream line change earlier

Goal!!!!

Stillman (who?) from Horton, apparently (no feed, listening to Randy Moller).

I paid for GameCenter, but Panthers games are blacked out here in Broward. And I’m not driving up to my mom’s just to watch a hockey game.

Tell you this, Johnny: they have all elevated their games around the Reinprecht/Horton/Stillman line. Actually look dangerous.

by Donny Rivette on Oct 31, 2009 8:36 PM EDT reply actions

Make no mistake, tho: the need remains for a big-time scorer

by Donny Rivette on Oct 31, 2009 8:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Good. They looked pretty good last night. Think Stillman’s finally warmed up and Reinprecht is having a good effect on both.

Not sure if/when Frolilk’s game is going to pick up, though.

Every time there’s a play, the NHL site highlights all the players on the ice. Changing fast & furious on the Panthers side.

They’re got a clip up of the Weiss goal. Nice job by Rhino to keep it alive and Weiss to get in position for that rebound.

And with all the player movement, really a miraculous job by he and Teddy.

by Donny Rivette on Oct 31, 2009 9:15 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks! Groulx is doing a great job BUT the biggest help is having EXPERIENCED players that have been able to stay calm and not panic during games.

The team appears built to weather the storm. If only the Panthers could trade Andrew Sweetland or Brady Calla though.

by keithwozniak on Oct 31, 2009 9:22 PM EDT up reply actions

It’s stunning sometimes how much that helps. The year before I moved down here, the Crunch signed Andy Delmore and Jamie Pushor and had their best year in quite a while. Of course, Delmore went back to Europe, the best players made the Jackets and everyone else’s contract ended, but playoffs that one year was nice.
