Horton one of the top scorers from 2003 draft?
So I was watching a game the other night (Penguins-Devils I think) and a stat came up about the top scorers in the league that were from the 2003 draft. Nathan Horton was about fifth on the list (Eric Staal was number one if you're interested). Doing a bit of reading on that year's draft, and it seems a lot of fans of other teams think Horton is actually pretty good and just on a poor side (hard to argue with that last bit).
What do most of you guys think? I'm no expert, but he looks decent enough to me -- certainly not bad enough to warrant the "Horton sucks" sign I saw at the Carolina game last week!

He certainly should be among the leaders from that year (and we’re routinely reminded that Staal went one pick earlier.
He’s producing so far; looks like he’s finally found a line (with Rhino and Stiller) which really emphasizes his talents.

I think Horton’s a very talented player who was hurt by playing for a poor team for so long and also having bad role models (cough Olli Jokinen cough). He was hurt last season and I think it affected his play some. This year he’s really applied himself and has been on fire from the beginning. Even when he wasn’t scoring in those early games, he was finishing his checks and playing well defensively. Although I usually chide him for playing lazy, he’s consistently been one of the best players out there this season.
The real bust from that draft is Anthony Stewart.

Thanks Johnny; though I completely agree, that is the name which we do not speak.
