"We're going to be there with them, we're going to be crying with them, we're going to be laughing with them. We are the biggest Panthers fans. We're the only crazy ones who would do this."
Stu Siegel, who along with Cliff Viner will be purchasing a majority stake in the organization from Alan Cohen. The deal will be made official in a Monday press conference at BankAtlantic Center.

very funny, i just posted that some comment on the Herald’s comments for On Frozen Pond because someone quoted Viner saying he doesn’t believe you need to spend the most money….but that it needs to be spent right. which is obviously the case, we’re close to cap every year but with a MAJOR lack of results.
i also inquired about this to Goldie on twitter…this is his reply.
@goldieonice: @altereg0 what I do know is both mr. Viner and mr. Siegel personally and professionally and both are good men and want to win for the fans
Well honestly, what else could he say? But I get a good feeling from these two anyway. Nice to have a hockey guy in there. How many other clubs – in any sport – have someone in ownership who actually played the game?

Sorry this is off topic, but did anybody else see the “sneak peek” button in the bottom right hand corner of the Panthers new jersey announcement on their website? The button doesn’t work for me. Does it work for anyone else?
If you move the cursor around the “bar” it lightly highlights certain aspects of the new logo. Not much to be found.

At least they realize you’d have to be crazy to take a stake in this team. That’s something. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. And since we’re Panthers fns, we’re already prepared for the worst, so cheers to this! I’ll drink one in the BAC tonight in celebration. Let’s just hope the Cats are ready for those Kings. They’re not bad this year.
