Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres

Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres, Nov 18, 2009 7:00 PM EST

Die By The Blade                  Panthers at Sabres GameDay               TSN Preview

Panthers Keys to survival Victory:

  • A fresh start? Or repeat of the 5-2 home loss on October 21st to these very same Sabres? 43 SOG weren't enough that night, an evening where Dennis Seidenberg, David Booth, Rostislav Olesz, and Steven Reinprecht all had five shots (and a collective four points). They'll have to do it this time around minus Booth. Again.
  • Buffalo is going for its fourth-straight win. Can the Cats produce an upset against a club with the NHL's current leader in GAA, save %, and wins? Shoot early, shoot often, and keep the confidence up (we're looking at you, Coach Pete).
  • Ye Olde Newes: A one-period per-game mental breakdown of the sort which has doomed the Panthers since the first days of the season remains a troublesome - or more accurately, disastrous - area. If Florida can play an entire sixty minutes out of the gate, they have displayed a proven ability to compete with anyone...but it's far too irregular.
  • Number of the Day: 28  - Stephen Weiss' league ranking in faceoff percentage (53.4)

David and the gang at the excellent Die By The Blade will be our bloggular opponent this evening, so get that stick in their side and let 'em you're there. Go Cats.

Are you suggesting that one goal will hold up tonight or do they need to try and win this in overtime?

Holy Cow ...

… the score was 3-2 when I pulled in the driveway. By the time I got inside and turned on a radio, it was 5-2. Jeeze Louise.
