Panthers drop Sabres 6-2
A terrific game - and I just had to alter the final tally by the visitors to 6 - the Cats buried the Sabres by a score of 6-2 on a pair of goals by Michael Frolik, Dominic Moore's two points and Keith Ballard's three assists.
A game which began as a snoozefest became one of "Oh yeah? Yeah", leading the way to an unexpected yet well-deserved victory over the fourth place club in the Eastern Conference. 18 points, baby.
Starting goaltender Tomas Vokoun stopped 26 of 28 shots, while Frolik is finally rewarded with his four shots on goal.

The “holy crap” stat for me? Panthers won 32 faceoffs to Buffalo’s 17. Say what?

How does 6-2-1 in our last 9 sound?

there is one thing we must all agree on… there are still haters out there that will inevitably join the bandwagon once this train stays on track full speed…we know a lot have given up on this team and probably should be shot but all in all when this team climbs the standings and finally make it in… those of us who have and still support the team should have the honor of bitch slappin those who gave up and comeback acting like they were supporting them the whole time…
I’m all for it. That could be our new between periods activity: bitch slapping pretenders.

Anyway... what the hell happened last night?
Instead of hunting for a feed, I went out to buy the Kraftwerk box set and was watching the score on my phone. 0-0,1-1,2-1,3-1… I met up with the wife and went out for dinner. I checked the score when I got there and it was 3-2. I checked again before we left and it was 6-2 and the third was just ending. I guess the Panthers did to the Sabres what the Sabres did when they were here. If they can get another 1-2 points on this trip and have a good homestand next week, we could be looking at ninth or tenth place at the end of the month.
