Hmm, not sure how I feel about that, guess I’ll wait to see the top half. Kinda looks like a Pittsburgh 3rd/ Atlanta home jersey with that light blue.
You come at the king, you best not miss.
Hiya Hooks…the top is very different from Pittsburgh’s. Somehow manages to remain distinct, IMO.

Can’t help ya there, my friend. Anyone help the guy out?
Was it you that FSN claims is in Panthers territory, when in actuality you’re in LightningLand?

alterego — You can always try to go to the game post at Pensburgh, someone almost always posts one. (sorry to plug my own site, not trying to hawk, just infor).
You come at the king, you best not miss.
No problem on my end…you know the drill with feeds, Hooks! I was once there as well.

Hey all.
Too bad the cat doesn’t have a bloody rat in its mouth. Let’s go boys.

this intentional offsides thing is so confusing to me! why owuld anyone want to be intentionally offside?!
a faceoff is better than just giving the other team the puck

allen doesn’t want any of this. see how they respond to a hit on Malkin though? that was so sorely lacking when David went down!
agreed. feels worse now that booth has been out since and not coming back anytime soon

…and Horton. Amazing – and lucky – they’re both hitting “it” at the same time. Finally shaking the “kids” moniker?
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 8:13 PM EST up reply actions
maybe, but its odd, they seem like they’re definitely having more fun.
by alterego6487 on Nov 23, 2009 8:14 PM EST up reply actions
Yes. Looks that way; they certainly have a read on each other, even beyond the “Sunrise Express” (grits teeth) days

Actually, Big Time was getting on NHL.com and SI, but I digress ;)

The logo on the shoulders looks cheap, but the overall image is outstanding. These uniforms remind me of a college team… Maine maybe?
I like it.
EXACTLY! Precisely what I was thinking on the Maine connection. Like these better tho.
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 8:39 PM EST up reply actions
Cheers to Dvo
…on his 500th game in a Panthers jersey (whatever form it may take). He’s worn ’em all.
Awesome, thanks for that link LBC. I don’t know how, but my wife and I just thought Maine as soon as the game started. Prolly only seen them play twice.
I agree, the Panthers took it one step further and better. The solid stripe on the bottom and the clean circle logo really look classic.
My pleasure, Stu. SOMETHING reminded me of the combination, and you sealed it!
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 8:49 PM EST up reply actions
Sure was similar to my “prep game” last night.
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 8:50 PM EST up reply actions
For the record, I was always a PS guy, but XBox was cheaper this time around…and I’m eating up NHL10. WHERE’S MY CODE FOR THE UNIFORMS???
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 8:51 PM EST up reply actions
maybe coach had a chat with him. whatever it is, it’s working
by The Rat Trick on Nov 23, 2009 8:56 PM EST up reply actions
i have no idea, but i love this play from him. i’m giddy over it

Don’t make me fire up GameCenter. Please.
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 9:07 PM EST up reply actions
how come no one’s talking about the “sophomore slump” that kid Chris Mason’s going thru this year. from vezina/calder contender to 7 goals allowed v the rangers?!
maybe since he’s in columbus no one knows
by The Rat Trick on Nov 23, 2009 9:12 PM EST up reply actions
how many more times are they going to mention the third jerseys? haha. I think we get it.
Go Cats and Go Canes!
Guess I’m kinda to blame…(sheepishly slinks off-screen)

Where ya be? CLG be in the house as well.
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 9:22 PM EST up reply actions
I don’t think I’m getting back to the BAC until the Oilers on the 7th, in which I’ll be torn cause they’re my second team… my first NHL game was at Rexall Place.
Go Cats and Go Canes!
not torn too hard though, haha
Go Cats and Go Canes!
by KentuckyCane on Nov 23, 2009 9:20 PM EST up reply actions
Don’t hear many stories like that round these here parts. Wasn’t Rexall at the time, was it?
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 9:21 PM EST up reply actions
i think it was- though it was last year and i trust you to know better than men. If it wasn’t officially Rexall all my Edmontonian friends certainly still call it that
Go Cats and Go Canes!

It’ll always be Northlands Coliseum to me.

Go Cats and Go Canes!

If nothing else, the new unis are making me hate Pittsburgh’s white/Vegas gold even more. Should go back to the true gold/black. Current colors are too passive.
You saw those old colors, you saw Francis/Lemieux/Jagr/Stevens/Barasso/Paek, etc…
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 9:29 PM EST up reply actions
i’ve decided i like the new unis. at first i missed the red, but i like these.
Go Cats and Go Canes!
by KentuckyCane on Nov 23, 2009 9:30 PM EST up reply actions
miss the red, yes, but these aren’t throwbacks as much as they are 3rd unis. i like them alot on the ice.
by alterego6487 on Nov 23, 2009 9:32 PM EST up reply actions
right!? i was thinking the exact same. wednesday will be waaay worse of course…
Go Cats and Go Canes!
by KentuckyCane on Nov 23, 2009 9:33 PM EST up reply actions
So I might be a little late to comment, but I honestly don’t hate the Panthers’ third jerz. As Hooks said on our thread, it looks like the Penguins’ third jerz and the Blue’s third jerz had a baby

Hey Frank!
I think Hooks is close, but StuBarnes nailed it on the Maine color combo.

With a transformer Panther head in the center.
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 9:48 PM EST up reply actions
hha that’s pretty accurate too. But I don’t dislike them, for what it’s worth.

Man, the Senators did the exact same thing to the Pens the other night. They must’ve owned the zone for 2:30 minutes.

This is really bizarre. I’ve never seen a call like this before

Double minor…what’d he do? “Allegedly”?
by Donny Rivette on Nov 23, 2009 10:06 PM EST up reply actions
no, he was in the play. If he was cherry picking he would’ve been at the blue line out of the play with the puck down in the Pittsburgh end. That’s how you score on a PP.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
haha ok. I admit it. Fleury’s miraculous save in the dying seconds of Game 7 meant nothing. Talbot’s two goals wouldn’t have meant a thing if not for the refs using a small mirror to reflect light into Osgood’s eyes. The whole season was a scam. What a lie I live as a fan.

A player’s gotta be in control of his stick.
And officials don’t score goals.
You come at the king, you best not miss.
by Hooks Orpik on Nov 23, 2009 10:11 PM EST up reply actions
that was a baloney call. but still gotta play the defense.
by alterego6487 on Nov 23, 2009 10:12 PM EST up reply actions
Not a Pirates fan. Not really a baseball fan at all. Used to be a Yankees fan when I was a kid, but when they started buying players and championships I stopped caring. Funny how that works.

Now I really respect you. Well said, congrats on the brilliant luck picking Crosby and Malkin. you guys are set for life.
I didn’t realize and unintentional thing like that could end up being a double minor!? good lord- that was shit.
Go Cats and Go Canes!
If there’s blood there’s a double minor.
You come at the king, you best not miss.

all you pens fans....
you’re own broadcast team seemed baffled with the call as well. you thinking its a bad call isn’t going to take the two points away from you or your cup, just give you some respect.

We were baffled too
