WELCOME TO THIS EVENING'S OPEN THREAD
"I think we self-destructed.''
- Florida coach Peter DeBoer after Saturday's 4-1 loss in Nashville
That's an observation most of us probably share. Anway, the sting of that latest defeat is a day behind us, as are most of the stresses (and pleasures) that come with Thanksgiving. Onward, and hopefully upward.
The Cats have a decent record lately against Atlanta, particularly at Philips Arena, where the home club has dropped five of the past six matches. But John Anderson's boys have been doing some good work this year, evidenced by their solid all-around numbers, led by a sterling 3.44 goals per game. An 85% penalty-kill success rate doesn't hurt. And 9-0 when scoring first? Sick.
The big news for Florida? Gregory Campbell will return, and possibly get power play time. Hope you were sitting down.
The Falconer's clan at the awesome BWA has the home team covered, so give 'em a shout. Thanks as always for dropping in. Go Cats.

Unreal
Thought we’d never top the sheer bizarro-world injury of Zednik. This is crazy.

It’s not on TV in Atlanta, but the Thrashers announcers are appalled and confused.

Indeed I did. Got a red-headed step-child to go with it?

So here I am ...
… stuck at work. Take a few moments to see how the game is going, only to find out Ballard Zednik’ed Vokoun. Holy Crap, what’s next?

Don’t ask that question, Big D.

We're doomed
Up next, sudden retirement for Reinprecht. How sudden? Between periods. Umm… What else could go wrong? Can you trade players during a game? Maybe Sexton will unload the first line for draft picks.
OK, I’m reaching but we are doomed.

It must be that kind of night ...
… I see what Ovechkin is out of tonight’s game vs the Hurricanes with a knee on knee injury.

Got thrown out because of it, too. Do you really need to gun for Canes players?

Update from Atlanta: Tomas Vokoun suffered an ear laceration. He was transferred to a local Atlanta hospital where he will be further evalutated. He was alert and responsive while being transported

You may be asking for too much. That would be nice, however.
