Around SBN: Champions League Preview with Jimmy Conrad

Wednesday Caterwaul - Panthers Open Forum

Thrasher_medium

From Brittanica.com: (A Thrasher is) any of numerous New World birds with downcurved bills, noted for noisy foraging on the ground in dense thickets and for loud varied songs.

Noisy foraging and varied songs: a frightful combination. More frightening, however, is Atlanta's 37 points in 31 games. No one predicted that. Ilya Kovalchuk - of course - leads the club with 17 goals.

How does Nathan Horton possibly top a four-point evening? By keeping up the point-a-game pace he had established in the days before. That's how, cuz he ain't banging out another hat trick.

Open Thread goes live at 6pm.

Hadn’t seen yet, but man how the mighty have fallen; lehtonen injured or just lousy right now?

Back surgery. Out at least three more weeks.

Florida Panthers: Giving the league a punching bag since 2000.

The teams leading scorer stats are similar ...

Points: Hortan has 32, Kovalchuk has 31
Goals: Kovalchuk has 17, Weiss has 15
Assists: Horton and Antropov both have 21

However, Florida has played three more games (34 vs 31).

Never thought I would see the day with Kovalchuk and Weiss in the same sentence!

Let’s just remember that Kovalchuk has missed some games, so his stats should be a bit better otherwise.

Need to win tonights game. No question about it.

I had not realized Kovalchuk had missed six games (he’s played in 25 games out of 31 as compared with Weiss’ 34 out of 34).

No worries.
My only point is that those two names in the same sentence threw me for a loop!
