Matthias, Duco back to Rochester
A little late on this, but Panthers forwards Mike Duco and Shawn Matthias have been reassigned to the Americans, paving the way for a return by injured wingers Cory Stillman and Nick Tarnasky to the Cats' lineup this week.
Matthias (3p, +1 his past five games with FLA) and Duco (0p, 19 pim in five) are welcomed back to a Rochester club which saw early success, but has struggled of late after losing numerous players to callups and injury, going 2-7-1 over their last ten matches.
Interestingly - though not entirely surprising - was the retention of Steve MacIntyre, who hasn't logged more than 2:14 TOI in any of the five games he's played stretching back to November 27th, a game in which he took a five-minute fighting penalty, but none since. He's pointless over that time (with so little action, how could any offense be expected?). The nuclear option remains.

happy holidays everyone! i know i’m late, but i’m up in NY so getting to the Box has been difficult. was at the Garden on Wednesday for the game, can’t say much other than Henrik is the King for a reason. some pretty unbelievable saves that dude made kept the Panthers out of the win column. didn’t think they played poorly, just looked a little spent with this six week stretch finally ending.
let’s hope this little break and the lightening up of the schedule will help this team go on a little run to seperate ourselves from the bottom of the pack. the team has picked up play and it’s been great to see the others pick up the missing points from Booth and Stiller.
we should be thrilled to be in this position with Booth not playing more than two weeks. his return, as well as Stillman’s, can only be a positive and should help us make Vokoun look like the All-Star he’s been playing like.
