Panthers Vokoun to start for Czech Republic in Vancouver; Frolik snubbed

Florida netminder Tomas Vokoun has been announced as the go-to guy for the Czech squad heading into February's Olympic Games. It was believed for some time that the job was his to lose, and the numbers he's posted this year combined with a solid history of international play allowed the 33-year old native of Karlovy Vary to seal the honor. He'll be backed up by fellow Southeast Division goaltender Ondrej Pavelec (Atlanta).

Panthers' first line winger Michael Frolik did not get chosen for the team.

That’s two of us. A couple of names on the roster had to have been “bubble” picks (Vasicek and Cervenka, to name two).
