the more i think about it, the more it intrigues me. the truth is, Andy’s a UFA after this year. His value is high, teams are looking for ‘tenders. If Martin can get a solid center\scorer in return, or something that improves this team, it’d be worth considering. there’s no question Vokoun is the guy going forward this year. Obviously an injury is a risk, but… who knows.
I’d consider it as well if the situation in Rochester was a LOT better

bit of a snoozer so far… 3 and a half hours to go… think things will pick up? any of these “big name deals” gonna happen?
From the looks of it, Olli should be a Flame by 3:00. It’ll be nice for him to get to play in the playoffs, hopefully he doesn’t choke his chance away. he won’t be the #1 guy in Calgary which should take some pressure off.
I know Toskala’s had some injury problems, but is Gerber really a worthwhile improvement? Hmmm….. still waiting for big news…
The waiver deadline was 12pm, so unless something’s sitting on the NHL’s fax machine, there won’t be a Gary Roberts pickup. Too bad; hate seeing a player of his former caliber closing it up on the wire.
They could still trade him late in the day to someone who waited because they missed out on someone else.
True dat…but why give up something and have pay his salary when you could pick him off waivers and only be on the hook for half the contract? Think he’s done.

question: how does the waivers work for the nhl? if two teams both wanted morrison lets say, what determines whcih team gets that player?
i think it goes in reverse standings order… so if florida wanted someone, but the islanders also did, they’d get first pick… I think, don’t quote me though.

That is a very good point. If you add a top line center, you move Horton to the wing and have move Zednik down to play with the 4th line? I think you would have to keep the Weiss/Frolik/Stillman line together and the CPR.
