Panthers practice facility expansion nears completion, but lots of skating options for locals in region
From The Sentinel's Sarah Talalay:
Meanwhile, the Panthers go from a meager training facility wedged into the original building to a sparkling 16,000-square-foot area with a separate entrance and players lounge with kitchen, hydrotherapy tubs, and gym. The team will practice on the third rink, which will be available for public programs when the Panthers are not using it.
Panthers coach Pete DeBoer said the training center will be among the nicest in the NHL, inviting for current players and attractive to free agents.
"It wasn't the first place on the tour," DeBoer said. But the expansion will change that: "When players are coming in from out of town, we'll probably head from the airport right to the new practice facility."
Lots more from Sarah on area skating facilities as well.

I'm glad it's almost done.
The construction has made it a PITA to park for the last couple of months.
Oh, hrmm. Never been. I just go there for skating lessons.

Put on a good show last year at IncredibleIce. The first day, anyhow.

It’s gotta be better than the old practices at the Gold Coast Ice Arena in Pompano with the 10 foot high ceilings… right?
"Hydrotherapy tub"
Spa-speak euphemism of the day.
Lighthouse Hockey: Side effects may include Weight gain and frequent game loss.
Free Agents?
So when exactly are the free agents going to come that are impressed by the training facility? Is he talking about Jeff Taffe and Graham Mink?
Think they were both on vacation when signed, thus unable to be bowled over by the new wing with a personal visit.
