Are the Panthers in the process of covertly adopting a new logo?
From Icethetics:
There's a question that's been nagging at me for a few weeks now. I want to see what the rest of you think. Are the Florida Panthers in the process of covertly adopting a new logo?
I noticed recently that the Panthers' official web site was redesigned to feature a legless panther logo in the banner. See the following graphic.
Complete article.
Any word if this is happening? Doesn't seem too radical an alteration.

I don’t think it’s anything new… I seem to remember a patch on my backpack in middle school with a “legless” panther… I’ve noticed it a few places here and there… again, I think.
There are very few things in this organization that do not require any tinkering whatsoever… The logo is one of them… We have one of the coolest logos in all of sports, and there is simply no need to start monkeying around with it. Leave it alone.
The only change I’d like to see someday is the leaping panther holding the Stanley Cup between it’s paws…
I agree that having a different logo on the 3rds would be nice.
Our 3rd will have the Panther’s face in the center of a circle on the front, with the word “Florida” around the top, and the word “Panthers” around the bottom.

From Puckdaddy’s comments section on his link to the “new” logo query:
“The logo is appropriate. The franchise hasn’t had legs to stand on in years.”
Funny, sad and true.
