Current Islander (and former Wing, Duck, 'Nuck, Flyer, Bolt, Cat, Sen, Jacket, Blue, 'Yote, Blue, Pred) Mike Sillinger has announced his retirement as a player from the National Hockey League.

Dominik at Lighthouse Hockey has a terrific wrap-up from the Long Island side of the story.

A first round pick of Detroit in 1989, Sillinger leaves behind a singular legacy: the all-time record-holder for most clubs played-for in a career (does that sound grammatically correct? Hmmm).

Any memories of the 17-year veteran from Florida fans regarding those heady, halcyon days of 1999-2001?
