OK
He’s echoing what many long-time fans are saying. At least he’s not trying to say that things are going great.
I enjoyed every flippin’ second of the show! Vanessa and I DVR’d it… The interviews with the new guys were the best! It’s nice to get some new perspectives on things. Last year when Stiller came in during an intermission and chewed the guys out stating basically, “I don’t know what you guys have been used to doing in the past, but this crap stops NOW”, I felt like there was some hope to change the culture of losing…
This is the time of year when I try to forget the past and just concentrate on the future. I hope we can stave off the bitterness for awhile…
Nevermind… This isn’t the interview I was talking about… I was referring to the FSN review…
Carry on…
Now that I’ve watched the interview above… I’ll just say… “Jesus Christ!!! Why do we even bother listening to this F’N GARBAGE!!! It’s amazing to me that no matter what we do, we’re still a punching bag. I’m sick of it… I’ll be damned if I’m going to base my enthusiasm on WES GOLDSTEIN and LAUREN SHEHADI’S (Who the heck are they, anyway?) opinion of the Florida Panthers….”
Why don’t we just take every interview from the past 9 years, update the date on the tag, and replay them…
Enough is enough… Where’s the vodka?
I did update the tag, Murph. This is a preview from 2002 but it exuded more positivity than the 2009 version.

Wes Goldstein is actually a pretty knowledgable hockey guy. If you listen to the CBSSports.com audio podcast (which features two other hockey writers) Southeast Division preview you get the full division take, in which they put the Panthers in the middle as much because of their problems and lack of offense as because they all think that Washington and Carolina are going to have really good seasons (the disagreement between the three was whether the Canes would challenge the Caps for the division title). They had much worse things to say about the Thrashers and Lightning, and mostly criticized the Panthers for not adding more offense (a common sentiment heard here in SoFla).
Also, for the record, he lives here and has had ample opportunity to see the team play. (No, for the record, I don’t know him. I do know one of his colleagues at CBS Sports and I listen to his hockey podcast-I’m defending him based on the strength of coverage in that).
