Cats Mid-Season Player Ratings
These are usually fun, they do it in soccer a lot, anyways here goes. These ratings are relative to the rest of the league. If you dont like my ratings please post your own, I'm really just killing time here.
Vokoun - 9/10 - Best player on the team, almost no game-costing mistakes like last year what else do I have to say?
Clemmensen - 6/10 - He's stolen some games but he's also blown some, I understand why Pete doesn't play him. Clemmer looks to have lost the form he had last year with the Devils.
McCabe - 6/10 - Some good plays, some atrocious plays, some good leadership, some bad, he won't be leading us to the playoffs anytime soon.
Ballard - 6/10 - Same as McCabe, he was expected to be a big part of this team and it hasn't happened.
Leopold - 7/10 - Quietly solid, offensively and defensively capable and he has more goals than Bouwmeester!
Seidenberg - 8/10 - Does just about everything right, an upgrade of Skrastins although not an impact player.
Kulikov - 4/10 - Hate to be too harsh on the kid but he's a defensive trainwreck. He is NOT and NEVER WAS ready for the nhl. He'll get better of course but letting Skoula go and giving Kulikov the last spot was an amateur move.
Allen - 7/10 - Quietly solid although his shots tend to miss the net by 10 or more feet.
Horton - 8/10 - Almost a point a game, can't expect much more, I'd give him a 9 but he still doesn't have the ability to control a game.
Weiss - 8/10 - See Horton.
Frolik - 7/10 - Sophmore slump? Dont think so, He's on pace to better his numbers from last year but like every other forward we have he isn't a difference maker.
Olesz - 7/10 - If I were to say at the beginning of the season that Olesz would get 20 this year would you consider that a success? I would, and he probably will get 20 but that doesnt change the fact that you wouldn't even know he was playing half the time.
Reinprecht - 7/10 - Despite that fact that he's only scored once in the last 400 games he's still on pace for good numbers (for him) and he's a +12!
Stillman - 7/10 - Solid when healthy, old news.
Dvorak - 7/10 - Solid player, can't score, story of his career.
Moore - 7/10 - Pretty creative, fits the system well and he probably enjoys the 3rd line company.
Campbell - 5/10 - Who? Oh ya the guy with 2 goals. Heart and soul guy.... with 2 goals.
Kreps - 4/10 - Not good enough for the nhl, he's just occupying a spot that a better player could have.
Oreskovich - 3/10 - He skates and hits but does literally nothing else, not good enough, see Kreps.
Matthias - ?/10 - Pete would have to play him first.
Thats it, the rest of the players havent played enough to be given fair ratings (cough Koistinen). My average forward rating was 6.36, thats pretty mediocre, thats also what we all predicted before the season began, mediocrity. We have no difference makers (in contact practice) who ever leave the blue paint, we're right up against the cap and we're 21-29 with most of our forwards over-acheiving, sigh.
