Brodeur, Devils top punchless Panthers 2-0
Tomas Vokoun's effort (30 for 31) was upstaged only by Martin Brodeur (22) in a terrific goaltender dual, but not much else.
The Panthers' top line of Nathan Horton, Michael Frolik, and Stephen Weiss combined for six SOG and a minus-5, while Steve Reinprecht, Gregory Campbell, and Frolik each paced Florida with three shots apiece.
Not a lot to love about this one. More coming up in a bit.

I wish
We could back up Vokouns strong efforts with some offense…
I’m willing to be he’d agree.
Glad I don’t have to clean the visitors’ dressing room at PruCenter.

Our offensive shorcomings are exposed in a game like this.
The realization that a true and bonafide goal scorer is needed has never been more obvious. I know it’s hard and you need a trading partner, but something has to give.
We can’t get to the playoffs with this roster and expect to win.
Solid effort again by Vokoun, and once again, wasted.
We’re getting to the point in the season where deals are a bit easier to put together since a majority of the payroll has already gone out the door, and high salaries aren’t the drag they would have been – at least temporarily – earlier in the year.
Two losses and we’re back to blowing up the team. Frenetic, we be!
