Thursday Caterwaul - Panthers Open Forum
No time to bask in the glow of a shootout loss just a day ago. Truth be told anyway, the Panthers didn't play a lousy game, they just failed to convert on their opportunities against New Jersey. Any of them. Of course, Martin Brodeur will forever be a dangerous opponent, whether four regulars are out of their lineup or not.
Helped me sleep.
So onward to Long Island, where the 'Sticks have put together an impressive five-game home winning streak.
Scoring's been a bit of an issue for the Cats after storming their way to number 13 in Goals-For. What's the deal?
On a much happier note, we may be looking at the return of Dmitry Kulikov tonight.
Another 7pm start; Live Game Forum up around 6.

too much patience can be a bad thing
Had to change my sn bc my old one had been compromised. (it was soflaskinsfan). I think that Bill Lindsay is right. A lot of the Panthers forwards will wait forever for a pass for a one-timer to set up instead of ripping it themselves. WE NEED MORE SHOTS ON GOAL. Don’t get me wrong, good passing to make the goalie move from side-to-side can work out great, but we need more shots. It’s amazing how bad we get out-shot night after night.
Another thing is all the turnovers we commit in between the blue lines. There’s where the Cats need to pass with great precision. We constantly turn over the puck in the middle of the ice and nothing ever comes of it except an odd man rush for the opponents or dumping it in our zone and having to start all over again.
Re: the passing…
Couldn’t have said it better. I mentioned during last night’s Lve Forum much of the same: the Panthers hit more knees than goalie pads. At least they did yesterday, but it’s been a common thread all year with few exceptions.
