Around the web on a day off for the Panthers:

Crossbar-kisser: Rochester's Alexander Salak has some unique habits around his crease, but with 19 wins no one's complaining.

More Americans: Keith takes a peek at Rochester as the Amerks gear up for the stretch run following the AHL All-Star Game.

Minor Moves: 2006 6th round Florida draft pick Peter Aston has been reassigned to Utah (AHL).

Horton OK: Dennis Seidenberg channeled himself some Keith Ballard-style bi-polarism when the defenseman attempted to clear a puck through the body of Nathan Horton (who earlier scored Florida's only goal of the night) in the third period against New York. Coach DeBoer: "It's just a bruise." Sure looked scarier than that for a few moments.

The Leafs take center stage at the BAC tomorrow. Considering the last two matches between the clubs (both losses for Florida), it's not difficult to imagine captain - and former Leaf - Bryan McCabe drilling his troops into the ground to avoid a third "L". And as well as Tomas Vokoun has played lately, this is not the time to go radical and insert Scott Clemmensen.

Only hope when the offense gets going the goaltending doesn't take a dive. T-Vo's been insane over the past three weeks, and nothing more can be expected out of him.

Definitely Vokoun

He plays well, Clemmer does not. It’s very simple. If we had a good, top 5 playoff spot team, I could understand sending the ‘you lost your crutch’ message but not on a team desperate for every point.

Agreed, not counting the shootout, Vokoun has allowed 2 goals in his last 3 games! DeBoer has a habit of playing the hot hand, and you can’t get much hotter than T-Vo right now. If the Cats put the puck in the net, that might be 3 wins.

Stick with him

Regardless of how many games in a row he’s played, and regardless of how much rust is accumulating on Clemmer, you have to stay with Vokoun.
