Is there more to Panthers' Michael Frolik?
Been a quiet couple of days for the Panthers since defeating Montreal on Tuesday; no arguments here - actually gotten some work done.
Took a peek at the roster this morning, and given the assorted injuries sustained throughout the year - bizarre and otherwise - finding consistency among the forwards has been an exercise in statistical frustration.
Take Michael Frolik's numbers: his 30 points are not embarrassing, especially after enduring a truly awful October and currently riding a seven-game goalless streak (2a).
Generally though, is he where you expected him to be following his rookie season's 45 points? Has playing alongside Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss propped him up, or (sit down) perhaps amazingly held him back from further progress?
Has he hit a virtual wall, and if not, what will be required for him to make that next step - so often difficult after a successful first year which raised expectations around the league.

I’m sorry LBC. I put Frolik on my fantasy team right before his current game scoreless drought. I dropped him yesterday, so he should be good to continue on his point pace now that the curse of being on the HO Fantasy team is over.

As did I at the start of the year. We’re not the only ones who drank it up…

Sophmore slump?
Could very well be. Seems that we have some very streaky players.
Rhino has been invisible lately, and Weiss appears to have hit the wall himself. Revealing that the role of number one center does not suit him.
We are very lucky that others are chipping in and that Vokoun has been absolutely superb!
What happens next is anyone’s guess, but I hope that we find a way to stay in the race.
Any word on any potential deals? Awfully quiet
Scary quiet, as usual.
Peter Sykora’s refused to report to Houston per Minnesota’s order, and both parties have agreed to terminate his contract, according to Russo.

As for the “sophomore slump”, in hindsight it’s not really a slump is he’s on pace to ball-park last year’s numbers. Just expected more, at least on my end.

It’s not just Frolik. It seems everyone on this team goes through streaks of both good and bad. The top line had their 6 or 7 game run of 3 points per game. Rheinprecht had his run early in the year with 9 goals in 11 games or something. Stillman is on a little one now. Sooner, hopefully not later, it has to all come together or it’ll be a long offseason.
6 goals in 5 games, and we’re 3-1-1 in those. Pretty obvious it hasn’t been our offense…
