Globe and Mail's Duhatschek: Panthers' David Booth could return next week
"Booth is practising again and he could be back for a Feb. 5 date with the visiting Calgary Flames. Booth’s return could be pivotal for a Panthers team that needs to replace Nathan Horton’s scoring for the next four to six weeks."

Some of those quotes from Booth make me nervous. From all accounts, it looks like the Dr’s have cleared him and it’s on Booth’s time table now. I understand that he feels the need to get back in game shape and back to form, but the way he sounds makes it feel like he’s hesitant to get back on the ice… I’ve never had a concussion, so I can’t speak for him, but if the Dr’s say you’re good to go, and the coach\team says you’re in when you’re ready, I don’t know why Booth wouldn’t be playing.
“If I felt ready to play in a game right now I’d be playing tonight,”
“With the doctors, everything is fine. Right now it’s just a matter of getting my timing back and being in some situational play.”
“I just want to make sure I’m ready and give the team everything I’ve got,”
“When you’re tired out there, that’s when you’re susceptible to injuries. I don’t want to be fatigued and put myself in a vulnerable position,”
He doesn’t feel ready, and he sounds nervous about getting back on the ice. I can only hope it doesn’t lead to a lack of what he was before the hit.
I’m going with nervousness and a lack of anything new to say.
Still trumpeting the right phrases – it is Booth, after all – and his attitude is still as upbeat as ever. No question there’s got to be some level of trepidation in getting out on the ice against opponents once more after such a long absence.

Too many players have come back too early from concussions and ended their careers, I’m sure that’s what Booth is thinking. Id probably be the same way. Timing and conditioning are huge, if they’re off he could get knocked out again.
