Capitals' Mike Green gets three for attempted decapitation of Panthers' Michael Frolik
The league has handed down a three game suspension to Caps' D Mike Green for his nasty elbow on Michael Frolik. The hit will cost Green $81,606 in lost salary. Apparently the league felt that Dmitry Kulikov's punishment was not enough. Washington didn't appear to miss a beat after Green left the game, outscoring the Panthers 2-0 over the next 23:09. The Caps' currently hold a 6 point lead in the East, so the suspension shouldn't hurt them too much.

The crazy part is that he probably could have blasted Frolik legally on that play; what a dope.

I blogged about the NHL discipline inconsistencies
In a post yesterday. Richards drew a 5 minute major, Green a 2 minute minor. Don’t forget that either.

Talk about a shitty day for Green.
He makes an attempt at a beheading, badly injures his knee and now this.
However, it’s not like the Caps desperately need his presence to win.
