It's only been five days since Florida played an actual game, so far be it for me to bring up "rust". Just a strange quirk in the schedule, presumably. Regardless, everyone should be (for better or worse) more than well-rested; think it will have an effect on their play against Dallas this evening (7:30pm, BAC)?

Speaking of the Stars, they're coming off a 5-4 regulation loss Monday night at the hands of a much more composed Tampa Bay club than we had witnessed over the past weekend. The Lightning's victory spelled an abrupt end to Dallas' four-game unbeaten streak to begin the season, so a motivated Stars squad, seeking to right the ship early, can be expected.

And how about this for slick performance in a contract year: forward Brad Richards - he of the expiring $7.8M annual deal - has potted two goals and eight assists in six games. Oh, and a plus-8.
