Not much going down around PantherNation this afternoon, with one clear exception: The Rochester Americans - already dreadfully thin at center - will be without veteran Michael Nylander (7gp 4g-2a) for the remainder of the season following surgery to repair damage to a vertebra. A third-round pick of the Hartford Whalers in 1991, Nylander was on loan from Washington, filling a lineup hole caused when center Mark Cullen suffered a preseason achilles injury. Expect an acquisition "reasonably" soon; any ideas? Perhaps a package deal including a current Panther?
