On to the Capitol City this evening, as the Senators host the Cats from ScotiaBank Place.
Brian Elliott (3-3) will reportedly get the start in net for OTW; he's 2-2 (3.27GAA) lifetime, while Tomas Vokoun (3-9 against the Sens) returns to Florida's crease. Still no confirmation to the rumors coach Peter DeBoer will install anti-aircraft artillery on the periphery.
As hoped-for expected since the first week of the season, right wing Michael Frolik will be a healthy scratch. He's bombed-out biblically, recording two assists (-2, 2 hits) in seven games so far, though his 1g-3a-4p in eight career matches against Ottawa must've given DeBoer some hesitancy. Nah, probably not; hasn't been a hint of passion or confidence in his play, no matter what line he's been assigned to.
Forward Radek Dvorak will stake a solo claim on second-place all time for the franchise in games-played (568) when he hits the ice tonight. Robert Svehla's first-place standing is only six games beyond, so barring something tragic, Dvo will be the club's apex within two weeks. Who's his closest competition? Center Stephen Weiss with 488.
Did you know: defenseman Bryan McCabe has six points (all assists, 2 on PP) in seven games, which ties him with David Booth as team co-leaders in points. Gotta love a contract year.
Cats are back on FS Florida for this one; Live Game Chat at 6:30.
