Saturday Caterwaul: Panthers GameDay Open Forum
- Rochester banged out a wild third period in Worcester Friday night as the Amerks left town with a 4-3 victory over the Sharks. Chris Taylor scored twice while goaltender Tyler Plante stopped 33 shots.
- Stu Hackel at Habs I/O checks in with a pretty complete roundup of The Story Till Now, though we're still wondering where the elusive "George Edwards" may be lurking during daylight hours.
- Just in time for the Panthers' visit, blueliner Andrei Markov (23 points in 35 career games against FLA) will make his season debut tonight.
- A nice profile on defenseman Jason Garrison from CBC's Tim Wharnsby. "It's a fun role to shutdown the other team's top line," joked Garrison.
- We're hesitant to bring up Tuesday's mess from Toronto once more, but as Florida lost the game - in less-than-glorious fashion - the Leafs will lose the services of forward Colby Armstrong. For six weeks.
- Montreal coach Jacques Martin has exceptionally high praise for Habs netminder Alex Auld: "I always felt Alex was a good goaltender, I had him in Florida."
- Former Cats forward Nick Tarnasky sure likes him some Sunshine State.
Tonight: Moen vs. Hordichuk Panthers @ Canadiens, 7pm. Live Game Chat fires up at 6:30.

But there’s a huge psychological difference between sitting by necessity and sitting because you’re told “we don’t need you”

The real question is: Second line?
Frolik – Matthias – Olesz?
Olesz – Matthias – Bernier?
I’m assuming the third line will still be Stillman, Dvorak & Reasoner and that Reinprecht and Hordichuk will be on the fourth.
Florida Panthers: Giving the league a punching bag since 2000.

Is Weiss really going to get benched? -4 sucks but it seems harsh to make him sit. DeBoers is a mess, it’s only a matter of time when he gets his walking papers….please Tallon, whatever you do, DON’T HIRE KEN HITCHCOCK
Benching due to foot injury.
