Around SBN: Is Adebayor About To Become A Full-Time Spur?

From Kevin McGran:

"Everyone in the world saw what happened (with the Miami Heat)," says (Stephen) Weiss, a product of the Toronto Young Nationals minor hockey program and the longest serving member of the attendance-challenged Florida Panthers. "I definitely knew it would be tough for us to compete with that."

More above...and it's not the expected Toronto small-market beat-down.

Are we seriously concerned with attendance? What about that winning idea…it might work

Considering yesterdays Basketball Debaucle

I’m surprised people are still going to Heat Games…

You’re telling me they haven’t won the 2010-11 NBA championship yet? But everyone said there was no reason to play the games…

From your mouth to God's ears...

“The easiest thing is for us to be first place in the league, and we’ll fill those stands all the time.”
-Stephen Weiss

This may not be a “hockey market”, but it certainly is a “winning market”. When this thing comes together, I’m going to welcome the bandwagon fans with open arms…

That’s what they did in Washington… ;) Some days it’s just too easy to call out the Caps.

And as proof of that "Capitals" analogy...

I offer this photo (and I have PLENTY of others from this same night)… Taken just days before Washington fired its head coach and turned their program around. They were in dead last place when they lost to the Panthers in an 11 round shootout. They made the playoffs THAT season and haven’t looked back…

Better watch your back, Murph…Caps officials would probably choose to erase such painful facts from the historical record.

That scoreboard is still second-to-none in the leage. Vivid.
