As to your question: FLa will take longer to be consistently competitive. Only because Burke has made it clear he wants to win NOW, which means he’ll throw away draft choices and “the future” in order to ice a winner in the short term.

Burke is a bit of a cowboy, but attracting players to Toronto is alot easier than here. matter of fact, if i could have had an offer to go there instead of here I would have too!
But in the end, I took my talents to South Florida.

I’m not so sure a highly-regarded UFA – with a family – would choose Toronto as easily as he might have several years ago. Hasn’t gotten any easier to deal with that fishbowl.
They all strive for it, but I get the impression once “reason” kicks in, a lot of guys would rather not put their tribe through the headaches.
A couple of trips to the conference final would certainly change that, but they’ll always be the Yankees North.

The years of mismanagement have hurt them. To think that right before the lockout they came close a few times, but they got old quick and had no picks. Now they’re younger with still no picks.

Tough Loss last night
I didnt get to see alot of the game other than my boy John Wilkes Boooooooooooooooth get back on the wagon!
I always try to fall asleep to a hockey game and the Panthers were it last night.
