If possible he should definately be re-signed but that aint gonna happen, he should be able to fetch a second round pick. If he is traded Garrison should be called up to take his place for the rest of the season, he looked pretty solid earlier this year and he deserves the chance.

Obviously everything depends on what comes back, but Leopold is definitely trade-able, given a decent return. Unless he comes straight out in the next couple weeks and says he’s willing to sign a 2-3 year deal this offseason and stick around to help the transition to the Garrisons\Ellerby\Kulikov future, we gotta get something in return when he leaves. He’s not great, but certainly good enough to dump at the deadline to a team looking for an extra D.

Put him on the hook and see what bites.

I agree. He had expressed interest in staying prior to the announcements. If we get something good back or have to put him in a trade with a forward to get a good return, then do what must be done. But he’s not a guy I’m itching to get rid of.

I’m a bit surprised by the poll results so far; 27-27.

I’m all about collecting picks/prospects, but obviously that’s not a majority opinion. Never hurts to ask, I guess…
