PrintThroughout the Olympic break, Panthers On The Block will focus on Florida players nearing the end of their contracts or those who've garnered attention from the rumor mill since ownership declared "no one is safe".
How acquired: Signed from free agency to one-year deal (09/14/09).
Current salary/cap hit: $2.25M/2.25M
2009-10 season notes: 22 points are second-best in pro career (30 in 2008-09). One PP goal is 1 behind career best (2 in 2008-09). One SH assist ties career-high. Second in scoring by FLA defensemen (McCabe).

Keep him
He’s been our best defenseman and before all of this happened, he had expressed interest in staying. If he’s still interested, we should keep him. The guy is great positionally and blocks tons of shots. I can’t count the number of times another team would have had a great scoring opportunity except that Seidenberg was in the perfect spot in front of the guy with the puck.
