Scoring deficiency again dooms Panthers; Thrashers take 4-2 win
Two out-of-conference losses followed by a divisional defeat against a club which deplaned only scant hours earlier.
Radek Dvorak scored twice for the Cats, but nothing more was to come for a club which has posted 12 goals in their past ten games. Florida threw away a two-goal first period lead behind a three-point effort by Atlanta's Nik Antropov. Is this standard procedure for teams seeking the postseason?
Not much to say about this one, beyond an 0-7 power play and Tomas Vokoun coming in strong with another 32 saves.
Max Afinogenov, Nic Bergfors, Bryan Little, and Evander Kane scored for the home squad, while Johan Hedberg made 26 stops.
Lots to look forward to though, as the Cats' next opponent is Carolina. Always a hoot.
When does "enough" become "ENOUGH"?

Enough!
I have it! It is so hard to be positive. After listening at the town hall meeting last night and then seeing two miserable performances I can’t believe management is watching the same team we are.
There must be a shakeup.
Bring McArdle back up. Haven’t won since he was sent back down.
I firmly believe the season is on the brink of being over.
Playoff destined teams don’t play like this

I don’t know that there’s a worse team in the league right now. Maybe Edmonton. Maybe.
AND YET… somehow someway we’re still 2 points behind 8th. Sure, we’ve played a couple more games, but no one is taking this thing by storm. Yea, we’ve scored just 12 goals in the last 10, but we’ve won 4 of those. In the last 10 GP, outside of Ottawa (9-1-0) and Tampa (7-2-1), no one is playing good hockey. Flyers are in 8th and they’re just 5-5-0. Rangers are 3-7-0, Bruins haven’t won in 10 straight. We’re obviously struggling. Isles are 2-8-0.
Silver lining or false hope… who knows and who cares. The only thing I do know is that if this team doesn’t make a move by Mar. 3rd, might as well pack up and ship them to Hamilton. With Carolina and Boston left before the break, there are 4 points for the taking. Throw away Vancouver, it’ll take a blizzard in Sunrise to cancel this game and even then, we still might lose it. But 4 points before the break and we’re right in the mix post-break, and that in itself would be a miracle. Which leaves it up to Sexton to make a move. We’ll see…

The Panthers players should forfeit the pay for tonight’s game.

It’s ENOUGH. I have half a mind to drive down Thursday and stay in the parking lot. If the game sounds decent on the radio, I’ll go in. If not, well, the beer is cheaper in the parking lot and the cigars are plentiful.
If the team isn’t going to show up, why should I?

Don’t tell DeBoer the team doesn’t show up. “Yeah, they out-skated us in the second and third periods. But we’re short guys. Our effort was there. We didn’t finish some of the opportunities we had.’” -Pete
Embarrassing.

That was just making up for slamming them in the press last night. They KNOW this was money in the bank if they could have gotten up by three. Or, if DeBoer really thinks that, then they should start selling the KoolAid he’s drinking to the fans for $7 a cup.
Embarrassing is not the word. I prefer shameful.

And, being short guys?
There’s a farm system for a reason. Use it. They play with passion.

no tv
made this even more difficult tonight. I saw 2-0 cats after 1 and though it looked pretty good….should have known better.

Blame it on the players! Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets try blaming it on the terrible JM coaching legacy. Fire the PP coach now. Better off without one. Let the veteran players figure it out. 14 years and 1000+ games. Hopefully they know more than our coaching staff. The Canadian Jr. Hockey “system” doesn’t work in the NHL. To easy for good NHL coachs to figure out. They all have our offense figured out now. Simple as that.
