The patch on the shoulder looks like it was done by a second grader with a clipart program. The color scheme is absurd (since when was baby/sky blue one of our colors?). The uniform as a whole looks more complete but it still looks like complete crap!

I remember waiting anxiously going into that week before we first wore them telling a couple of guys at work if that third jersey (saw the logo preview of the panthers website) is red like our original ones, I will buy it regardless of the circle logo since they at least went back to our roots. I was actually excited about the jersey. I would’ve even loved a version of our current home unis where the red and blue switched places but NOOOO. We get this POS Navy and Baby blues garbage with FLA patches on the shoulders that looks like it was put together in 15 minutes up against a deadline. EPIC, EPIC FAIL!

If they wanted to go in a different direction from the past they could’ve designed something fresh and original, instead they produce a variant of a 90’s style jersey (again in a dark blue) that is a clear hodgepodge of the Penguins alternate jersey and their old blue sweater. The first thing I thought of when I saw the new sweater is “dressing like the Penguins won’t make you play like them.” Hand to God I swear I wasn’t able to stop complaining about the jerseys and the godawful shoulder patch until the third period. I swore a penguins fan (or maybe a thrashers fan) must have designed this abortion of a uniform since it was as far from our Panthers as they could have gone without omitting the team name. And the “customary circle” logo is merely an unimaginative take on the circle logos used by Pittsburgh, Minesota, etc but at least the aforementioned NHL clubs kept the same iconic logo in the middle of the circle. I haven’t heard anyone say a negative thing about our logo. In fact I’ve heard many call it the best in the NHL so why change it? They wanted a Panther head so bad they could’ve just used the one on the regular logo. I seriously felt embarassed watching that first game with the new jersey. I complained about it at work the next day. I told my girlfriend if she ever bought me that jersey I would burn it. Two years to plan/design this third outfit and that is what they came up with?? Way to disappoint the fans once again Panther’s organization.

Hell, the logos suck but this would still look better. Still gotta do something about the “Gym shorts” they’re wearing. One thing I cannot look past is the shoulder patch. Seriously, how many “yes men” were in the room with the idiot who came up with that? We could’ve just used the primary logo there or even the panther paw logo I’ve seen on some Panthers gear.
