Stastny, Anderson drive Avalanche to victory over directionless Panthers, 3-0
Once more, the Florida Panthers had no interest in winning four straight, on a night which saw conference rivals going the overtime route in droves. Result? Ground surrendered.
We'll pick this up in the morning, but the quick-take is Colorado's Paul Stastny doing what is naturally in his genes: scoring goals (2) at just the right time. Chris Stewart had two assists while Matt Hendricks picked up a goal late in the third period to put it out of reach for the visitors.
Want a positive spin? Florida's Stephen Weiss led his club with 5 SOG, equaling the Avs' Matt Duchene. Best I can turn up.
Goaltender Craig Anderson stopped 27 shots to gain the shutout over his former club. Tomas Vokoun made 28 saves.
Announced attendance in Denver: 11,458. That's a post for another day. More in the a.m...
