Rostislav Olesz takes a beating from Matt Carkner in first period action of an eventual Senators' 3-2 victory, March 27th, 2010. There was no penalty on the play.

Mac should have been sent out to greet Mr. Carkner...
What is this coaching staff thinking about……This is totally Unique in the NHL……Doug Maclean would have handled this completely different……….and just about every other decision.
Tarnasky was already on the ice when the hit went down; he darted up ice and delivered a check to Chris Campoli (I think) beyond the goal line.
But as to why neither he nor MacIntyre were “unleashed” – so to speak – I’m at a loss.
