Florida Panthers a partner for Saturday's statewide "Florida Hockey Day"
Want to get that youngling of yours involved in the greatest sport on Earth? The opportunity to do it for nil rapidly approaches. From USA Hockey:
The Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida joined with OneGoal, USA Hockey, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Everblades to create an opportunity on March 6, 2010, for families to come to a local rink and Try Hockey for Free!
This free trial has been created specifically for children ages 4-9 years old who are interested in trying hockey for the first time.
This is a tremendous gesture on the part of many rinks throughout the state; if you've ever been on the fence about giving the children a first-hand hockey experience, this is the time. More info and a list of participating rinks are here.
Big thanks to our good buddy John from Raw Charge for the link.

This is something my dad used to do to build up our youth hockey league, and it works great! The only catch is you might find fewer people that can do the harder part of the game (skating).

Ewww. I hate rentals. That’s why we never skate when we travel.

Probably time to purchase my own; last week was the final straw.
