Florida Panthers in IIHF World Championship - Wednesday Results
Clemmer's effort wasted again as DeBoer's clan takes a loss...
- FIN 3, USA 2: The Americans' plans for a medal will have to wait as Finland (2-1) ended any chance for a darkhorse appearance by Team USA (0-3) in the rounds that count. Scott Clemmensen's 40 saves still weren't enough to inspire an offensive outburst by his club, which could see some managerial changes following the solid-gold bust that became this tournament for the red, white, and blue. Finland's Jarkko Immonen had two points (1 goal) in the win.
- SUI 4, CAN 1: Not only was goaltender Chris Mason lousy (14 saves), the entire corps of Canada's (2-1) skaters could only manage to slip one by Tobias Stephan, who stopped 31 shots to gain the victory for Switzerland (3-0). John Tavares scored for assistant coach Pete DeBoer's troops. Center Steven Stamkos was injured on a first period play.

A dismal day for North America…and I have a cold to boot. I should just go to bed.

Don’t want to watch Montreal’s collapse?

Any word on why more Panthers aren’t playing? I heard that roughly the top 20 Czechs declined. And It’s not like Weiss and Horton are off team Canada’s radar, most Canadian outlets predicted Weiss and Horton would make the top line. What gives?
I’ve been looking into that very question. Could lump Ballard into a supplemental group too for USA.
