POLL: Hot or Not on BankAtlantic Center "losing" nearly 2,500 seats
The Panthers - via prez Michael Yormark - have let slip that tarps will be utilized to cover certain upper bowl seating areas of the BAC during most (read: non-premium) games for the 2010-11 season, and presumably will continue until demand rises for these typically under-used swaths.
We'll get into our thoughts on the particulars of this deal when the official announcement is made on Thursday (and On Frozen Pond can get you up to speed in the meantime), but just to gauge initial fan reaction, a simple poll will suffice for the moment. Your comments welcome as always.

An unfortunate sign of the times. As long as the tarps don’t look sloppy it’ll better than empty seats.
Agreed. Short of a “Chico’s Bail Bonds” logo it might work.

Sucks. I don’t know what this does financially outside of make our percent capacity number go up. I guess you can’t lose money on something you’re not selling anyways? I don’t know. I just have this horrible image of “These seats are being covered by Jet Blue Tarps. Head down to your local Ace Hardware to pick up your own!”
Barf. I guess it’s better than empty seats, although the only thing I have to compare it to is Jacksonville Jaguar games, and that stadium just looks sad.
btw… love the Admiral “Its a tarp!” Very clever…
