Florida Panthers in IIHF World Championship - Sunday Results
Recapping Sunday's World Championship action from Germany:
- CZE 6, FRA 2: Goaltender Tomas Vokoun stopped 20 shots to lead the Czech Republic (1-0) to victory over France (0-1). Six different players scored while Jaromir Jagr collected three assists for the Czechs. Next up for T-Vo: Norway on Tuesday.
- RUS 3, SVK 1: Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov posted no points, an even +/-, and one shot on goal in 14:32 TOI in Russia's (1-0) win over Slovakia (0-1). Victor Kozlov had two points (1 goal). Kuli will face Kazakhstan Tuesday.
- SWE 5, NOR 2: Prospect Jacob Markstrom saw no action but dressed as Jonas Gustavsson's backup in Sweden's (1-0) victory over Norway (0-1). Mattias Weinhandl scored a hat trick in the win. Markstrom could see a start Tuesday against France.
Scott Clemmensen and Team USA (0-1) play Denmark (1-0) Monday. No Panthers players were in action Saturday, though Florida head coach Pete DeBoer notched a win as a Team Canada's (1-0) assistant bench boss in a 5-1 stomping of Italy (0-1).
