Panthers' Clemmensen getting Team USA hook in favor of Detroit's Howard?
Detroit Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard has been approached about the possibility of joining Team USA for the World Championships.

USA Today's Kevin Allen is hearing as much. Jimmy Howard, an NHL Rookie of the Year candidate with the Red Wings, now has an abundance of free time. Clemmer, meanwhile, is coming off an 18-save loss against Germany. Of course, Howard has yet to get all official and agree to it, but whatever. Stay tuned.
