Kovalchuk Saga ends; re-signs with Devils
Really rather shocked he didn't go the Los Angeles route, but it's his career. Just can't be lucky enough to get the guy out of the Eastern Conference. In contrast, the Jersey faithful appear pretty stoked.
What to obsess over now? Sundin?

The question now is...
What’s the word from the Parise camp? And how long do you think it will be before Kovie tunes out Lamoriello & Co?
I just think Lou and The Devils only got a “sample size” of Kovie, and now that he has that long-term “security” Kovie is gonna wanna play pond hockey, up and down the ice, and, as we’re all WELL aware, that just ain’t The Devil(and Lou Lamoriello) Way.
Kovalchuk is selfish, always has been, he wants to score, and while that’s exactly what Lou and The Devils are paying him to do, his(Kovalchuk’s) way of going about things are just a stark contrast to the way The Devils normally go about they’re business. I think Lou is reaching here, I think he wants to win another one before Brodeur hangs ’em up, and I think this move is gonna burn him in the arse.
Just a weird story from start to finish. Talking to LA, not talking to LA, talking to LA again… and then New Jersey, where a lot of “experts” thought he just didn’t fit into the Devils’ system. I don’t remember Jersey getting a whole lot better when they brought him in at the deadline. Oh well… I’m not making $8 mil next year.
Also, TFP is saying Tampa signed Gagne. It could be a loooong season for us southeastern cellar dwellars.
Yep; Gagne to TB is all over Twitter.
