Florida not warming to Panthers branded license plates
Have residents been given a valid reason to? From the WSJ's Darren Everson:
"It's perhaps no surprise that the NHL's Panthers—a cold-weather team based just outside of Miami, a notoriously apathetic sports town—fared the worst. But the Tampa Bay Lightning—winners of the 2004 Stanley Cup—not only outdid the Tampa Bay Rays, one of the top two clubs in baseball, but also the Orlando Magic, a team that has twice reached the NBA Finals."
There's a bit more at the above link. We touched on this trivial subject quite some time ago, so the most recent sales figures are not in any way unexpected considering, well, reality. Broken-record time: like with everything else surrounding the Cats, sustained on-ice success will steadily send those numbers in a far more positive direction. Unless, of course, the sales department somehow worms advertising onto them; "John Doe's 1992 Buick Roadmaster Driven by L'eggs" or some other such monstrosity.
Vanity plates. We are so in August...

Lets not forget an important aspect
…there are TOO MANY DAMNED SPECIALTY PLATES IN THIS STATE! Ugh! It’s trivial, but the vanity plates are an annoyance, even if I support the teams that are being represented on the plates (or the issues, or whatever)
"Seen Cincuenta" -- 04.10.10 -- Raw Charge.
That’s a very relevent point, JF. Every college, cause, military sub-branch, and everything in between is represented. Kinda dilutes the market.
Why not go retro? Love to get a West Palm Beach Blaze tag.

Had a Panthers plate before I graduated from UF, now I have a Gator plate… gotta go with a winner…

This has to be one of the worst in the country
At least I’m able to identify my mother at any intersection. But fully agree, Karl.

We may be out of step with the rest of society, and we may love a bunch of losers, but I don’t care in the least; My wife and I support the Panthers on 3 of our vehicles:
Those are fantastic.
And the best part is that you can lean on one of the Panthers’ assistant coaches to give up “MURPH”.

Not to be discouraged...
Every “yes” vote is unquestionably a Panthers fan.
Can’t say the same for the “no” votes. I guess this is what they refer to in the media as “unscientific”.
