Panthers cancel Wednesday exhibition vs Hurricanes

Can't take too many precautions when the weather goes south.

The Cats cancelled their first home preseason game due to "the threat of severe weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Nicole" (Cone of Death track here).

As Carolina will soon be shuffling off for their turn in the NHL's now-annual "Kill Your Season with an Opener in Europe" fest, the scheduling simply proved impossible to arrange for a makeup date.

On the plus side, this will be the first Florida training period in quite some time not to feature a combination of  grueling travel schedule, brutal (and evidently pointless) "team-building", nor camp held in Parts Unknown. All good.

Now, what to do on a rainy, hockeyless Wednesday night...?
