Nashville's O'Brien suspended for stick incident involving Panthers' Weiss

Stay connected for news and updates

UPDATED WITH VIDEO:  The league has seen fit to bump Predators defenseman Shane O'Brien from the club's next two games for an alleged stick-to-the-face of Florida center Stephen Weiss, at or near the very end of the first period of a 3-2 Florida victory Thursday. It appeared to be a high cross-check right at the buzzer, throwing Weiss' head back quickly and drawing blood.

If you participated in the LBC Game Thread, you're already well aware of the incident, as no penalty was called on the play - resulting in it being a point of contention throughout the remainder of the evening. Bias alert: certainly looked at the very least to be worthy of a penalty.

Our thanks to On The Forecheck for the video.
