Btw, this is common among many cable providers. I know that Brighthouse and Time Warner do not have contracts currently with the NHL Network and Center Ice but are carrying them on an ad hoc basis. I think that Comcast may be in that group as well.

I guess nobody cares unless you have a football or basketball in your hand… even though those aren’t really sports anyway, there all about the money.

Comcast owns like 50% of NHLnetwork in the States. I highly doubt they’re gonna drop the channel. In fact, its probably why the others are having a problem. Comcast tryin to force people to buy their product now, since they own NBC, and a crapload of cable stations. Comcast is starting to resemble a monopoly.

List of Comcast assets. NHL network is one.

NHL Network will stay on Comcast, they will be a part of the new NBC Sports {Versus} empire. I believe NHLN may be split into two pieces, the TSN one in Canada and the NBC/Comcast one in the US. Already Versus has been carrying Comcast produced pre-season games.

NHL network Canada and US are both 50% owned by the NHL, and the other half by Comcast in USA (as I previously stated), and the other Canadian half by whoever. Comcast has owned Versus for since its start as the Outdoor Life Network, but recently has been merged with NBC Universal Sports. That’s how Versus got the NHL deal to begin with, as ESPN had no interest in hockey and Comcast has a vested interest by owning the Flyers.

TSN/CTV, which is Bell Media in Canada. Meanwhile, TSN is a Canadian offshoot of ESPN originally.
