Florida Panthers Prospect Roundup: October 14, 2011
Tomorrow might be the big night in the suite, the start of the NCAA season, and game two of the Rampage's season, but today is is prospect day. After the jump, see where Jonathan Huberdeau is after being returned to the QMJHL, how game one went down for San Antonio, and how long-term prospect Sergei Shirokov is setting Russia on fire.
San Antonio Rampage (AHL)
(1-0-0) 2 Points, West Division
Goals for 3, Goals Against 2
The Rampage opened their 10th season on Saturday against the Chicago Wolves, newly-minted AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. A record crowd of 9,062 did not leave disappointed, as San Antonio wasted no time scoring their first goal of the year just 27 seconds into the game (a club best), crediting Bracken Kearns with the marker. The Wolves would tie it up before the end of the first period, though potentially far worse was on the horizon as Rampage starter Manny Legace - a Stanley Cup winner and veteran of eleven NHL seasons - did not return to the game after suffering a re-aggravated lower body injury thanks to one Mike Duco; enter Florida prospect Brian Foster in relief. Jonathan Hazen scored his first professional point to knot it up in the second frame. After a scoreless third period and overtime, the clubs went to a shootout where A.J. Jenks and Hazen scored while Foster stopped all four Wolves shooters to seal the victory.

He was hurt during the first game, which is why Manny Legace is still on the team.

Legace was hurt during the game, Plante wasn’t 100% for game one so the team started Legace and Foster.

Not everyone who sees a girl in a somewhat revealing shirt goes crazy over them.. and I dislike when someone tells someone else what to do and thinks they should do it because of his beliefs

He has a lower body injury, which is why he has played only one game.
