Poll: Best Panthers game-presentation addition (or subtraction)
A refrain which gained legs quickly on Saturday was "This is a lot like a hockey game"...and it wasn't in reference to the on-ice product. A collection of new arena features found their way onto the BankAtlantic Center's "to-do" list over the summer which made their public debut only hours ago. So whatcha think at this early stage?

Everything!!!
It was great to see all of the improvements. Other than the Redline Lady Panther’s costumes being cheesy (now mind you, I’ve liked previous years outfits), nothing was outlandish to me.
I’m in absolute agreement here. I loved everything about the game last night. Only thing I felt was missing from the list of options in the poll was the new goal song, that’s what I wanted to vote for. There may have been reasons for not including it and that’s cool if that’s the case, I just wanted to mention it in case the original intention was to include it.
Hockey is a business, only we fans love it as a game.
+1 it was nice to see the Lady Panthers skating too!
I hereby predict Captain Mike Weaver #43 will score 6G 20A -RCR 0G1A update!
Be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, always do your best...
The first three items. Also the skating Lady Panthers, which didn’t quite make up for the Stanley of recent years not being able to skate, but it’s a start…
Didn’t the dude (in the stanley costume) break something a year or two ago on the job?

I’m just saying, with that having happened, I’m not going to bag on him not skating.

Oh!
I thought you were asking IF he was back on the job. My mistake! Yeah, he’s learning to skate. It’s not an easy task to skate in the first place, and throw in a heavy costume and a giant flag, and yeah, I give him major credit for his performance!
It was great watching Stanley skate around with the Red Panther flag after the game ended to signal a victory. That felt amazing!

Don’t know if anyone has ever been to a Florida Everblades game, but their mascot, Swampy, skates all over the ice and is a fantastic skater. Unfortunately, possibly because of all that spent energy, he smells like he came out of a swamp. Maybe a low budget for dry cleaning. Stanley doesn’t smell at all. :)

Thought everything was great, the return to Metal and Rock arena music from Pop music was the best new addition to me. Interesting that they put the Panther head that they used to skate through near the front of the building for. Should’ve had them skate through it again and bring back that tradition, but whatever. Save that for next season I guess.

Loved the new Rat Pack outfits, they look insane! Kinda wish I was still on the team so I could get my hands on a pair of slacks like those lol. Other than that, the overall pre-game was insane, although I live in Syracuse, NY so I don’t have much to say on the organ, other than it’s awesome that they brought it back! Curious on what everyone has to say about the organ…

In a strange, funky way…I like the crazy new scheme re: Rat Pack.
On the organ…ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT. Don’t let this go, Cats!

still the only thing missing in my eyes is a lack of replays. The plays are quick and exciting. A 2nd look would be much appreciated over a camera on someone oblivious to the fact that they are on the screen until the split second they notice.
With that said. The presentation is much improved. There were no weird people dancing in the middle of the aisles gaining more attention than the on ice product. Also, a plus on David Booth saying PUMPERRRRRNICKLE.
Can they just play that sound bite every time he scores?
That Pumpernickle answer was one of the better videos of the night. Made me laugh so hard.

I liked a lot of the additions! The organ is a classic (It’s actually been in the building for years), and It was a very nice nod to traditionalism.
I loved the appearance enhancements to the scoreboard. The red eyes, and even the Lexus Rink advertisement hanging from the bottom of it are impressive.
The new LED boards are also impressive, but they were more of a distraction than they are in other arenas because they were constantly running advertisements, even during play.
I was sincerely disappointed with the utter lack of crowd participation during player introductions. I could literally count the people standing and cheering as players were being introduced. I felt embarrassed for our crowd because our players have already seen two other teams’ home openers and they’ll see another one tomorrow night. By comparison, we were pathetic. You can bet that there won’t be a single butt in a seat in Tampa 22 hours from now. They’ll all be standing and cheering their boys as they make their first appearance at home.
While not a part of the game presentation, the stick salute at the end of the game nearly brought tears to my eyes. After years and years of watching seemingly arrogant players ignoring our cheers as they skated off the ice after rare wins, it was so humbling to see our boys show appreciation for our fans. I loved it. I hope they continue it. It was truly chest-swelling.
The good by FAR outweighed the bad… But even though the PA’s were moderately better than they were during the preseason (how could they not be), they were still a major distraction to me. The timing, intonation, volume-control, and slow pace were grating and frustrating. It’s hard for me to realize that we are stuck with this guy and are going to be forced to endure his very slow learning curve (and he will only learn if he’s taught) as he gains experience at his job at the NHL level. I’m so sick of hearing how honored we should be that we have UM legend on the mic. I couldn’t care any less about the University of Miami and its sports program. I just want a hockey-knowledgeable person doing the job, and that is the diametric opposite of what we’ve been given.
I was happy with the overall game-presentation…
Still wish that they had Bill Murphy back on the PA, but at least some of the traditions, such as the PANTHERS…… SCORE and the way he said Booth’s name, were fixed.
One very underrated part of the game was the post-game concert. Bill Murphy was the singer and he and the rest of the band were a delight to listen to. Not sure how many others stayed other than me, but it was a great experience to cap off the night.

Kuuulllllliiikkkoovvvvvvv!
I really don’t like the way the PA anouncer pronounces Kulikov’s name. It makes me think I am ringside in Las Vegas or at “The Thrilla in Manilla”. I think I cheapens the game of hockey.
LOL there’s tons of ways of saying it I think. Always seems to be an arguement among me and my friends, but SCORE sounds a lot better in my opinion.
