Thursday Caterwaul: Panthers Open Forum
Plenty to yap about today: Kevin Weekes likes him some Kuli, Guds stares at Game Nine, Spezza is absolutely ripping it up for the suddenly re-energized Sens, and cross Steve Bernier off the unemployment list (yep, we were worried too).
Today's game preview coming up this afternoon, followed by the Live Thread at 7.

If you haven’t seen the “bus” video from the official site, it’s well worth a look (unembeddable; must click “off-day” then “the bus”.

Howden's back
Scored a goal and an assist last night in Moose Jaw’s 5-2 win over Prince Albert. Just in time too, as the Warriors are holding on the the number eight spot in the Eastern Conference in the WHL.

Too bad Markstrom is staying in the NHL, not liking the Rampage’s chances with Foster and Plante in net.

Give ’em time to “gel”; same deal in SA as FLA…so many new faces.
And no question Clemmer sees time with them.

If CBJ doesn’t claim him, I think their backup and depth goaltender are hurt.

Go go Marky Mark. Should be a good test for him. The Sens are hot coming in, as opposed to the Habs, who started to get some form against the Panthers and then beat up on the Flyers last night. Watching last night’s game actually made the Panthers’ game on Monday more impressive. As much as everyone said that Markstrom won the game for the Cats (40 saves and all in a 2-1 win), they were far better in their own end than the Flyers last night. They’re a totally different team when Pronger is out.

I guess coach D likes to ride the hot goalie, I hope this doesn’t screw with Jose, I still think he should be the primary
“Veteran goalie Jose Theodore took the news well and was totally supportive of Markstrom. He said his, ‘core injury,’ could use the extra rest and Markstrom’s hot streak couldn’t come at a better time.” – via Sun Sentinel

Is now a bad time to mention that the Cats would move up to 4th in the Eastern Conference with a win tonight? OK, unless both the Sabres and the Leafs win. Then they’d only move up to 5th.
More than that, I’d like to see some space between the Panthers and the Lightning and Hurricanes.

no, we’ve had it bad for so long I don’t think there is any wrong with pointing out any and every positive associated with the Panthers this season.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say the Panthers got lucky and didn’t drop in the standings after that loss, because all the teams right behind them lost. But now Ottawa’s got 10 points too.
And Boston, just, wow.

I haven’t been mentioning these things, but god I sure want to :)
I won’t start though until they start putting together serious win streaks of like 5-7 games though.
I think we would be better to mention this stuff at around the 1/4 (20 game) mark of the season after we’ve faced more of the other teams
