We See BB&T

Following a recently-announced buyout of BankAtlantic, banking giant BB&T will push forward in a removing all reminders of the former's presence at the Florida Panthers' Broward County facility.
In essence: adios BankAtlantic Center, hola some variation of BB&T Center/Arena/Garden/Coliseum (the final wording of which will likely be heavily focus-grouped).
This news affects none of the on-ice product, but still..."The BAC" was catchy, with a degree of local warmth which I'll miss. Just can't get into the cutesy stuff: "The Bank" or "The Vault" seem woefully pale.
No timetable for the rebranding has yet been announced.

Wow, another change/bank buyout. I will miss referring to the building as the BAC….has such a better ring than the BB&T. Oh well…..lol

All that matters is the product on the ice. So long as we win, who cares what sponsor pays for the rights.

Yes, we know that that is a petty thing & the Panthers playing well is what matters. I just liked referring to it as the BAC….short & sweet….easy to say. :-P
Completely off topic but...
Sorry about the off topic, but I don’t know where to ask this otherwise: DirecTV dropped FSFlorida today apparently due to contract talks. I didn’t want to buy Center Ice. Does anyone know anything about this? Has anything been said?
It was resolved yesterday afternoon. Should be fine.

I saw that the Lexus Rink signage ring below the scoreboard was removed before the Cats-Jets game. Guess this is why. Lexus Rink at the BB&T Center or LR@BBT for short.

rumor has it that Lexus ring under the scoreboard (which so badly needs updating, as made clearly apparent by not being able to see a replay of that WPG goal at the arena), was interefering with cameras under the scoreboard. the team never asked NHL or told them they were putting that there and then the League came in this week to install these cameras and saw that the ring was there and made them take it off.
It sucks when the TV at my house is better than the scoreboard screens in an NHL arena.
