Florida Panthers Prospect Roundup: November 4, 2011
Another week, another roundup. The Rampage, Cyclones and Bees continue their slow starts while top pick Jonathan Huberdeau continues being amazing, and Rocco Grimaldi gets back on the ice.

Not a good week for the the Rampage who went winless in their weekend series, allowing four goals in each game over the weekend. In response to being outscored 16-4, the Rampage called up five players: Joe Devin, Keith Seabrook, and Garrett Wilson from the Cincinnati Cyclones, as well Jake Hauswirth and David Marshall from the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Joining them will be Tim Kennedy and goaltender Scott Clemmensen. The San Antonio Rampage are currently 3-5-0, and in fifth place in the West Division.
The Cyclones played one game during the week, a 6-5 loss to the Kalamazoo Wings. Cincinnati scored four unanswered powerplay goals in the third period, but it wasn't enough to overcome a six goal deficit. Anthony Luciani scored his first goal of the season in the first period, and Adam Comrie scored three points (1G/2A) in the game, all in the third period. The Cincinnati Cyclones are 1-3-0 and are tied for last place in the North division.
The only affiliate to win a game this week was the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in a two game series against the Laredo Bucks. The Bees scored two goals in the final period, one by Jake Hauswirth, but lost 4-3. The Bees were able to get their first win of the season the next day however, with a 6-3 win. The Bees are 1-3-0 and are tied for last place in the Berry Conference.

The NBC Sports Group will air 16 live college hockey games this season on NBC Sports Network (the new re-launched Versus). The first game that's scheduled to air will be Wade Megan and Boston University on New Years Eve. The big game will be Minnesota vs. Denver (which is the day after my birthday) on February 10th, featuring the red hot duo of Nick Bjugstad and Kyle Rau against Drew Shore & John Lee (and possibly Sam Brittain). Corban Knight and Rocco Grimaldi will be featured on February 24th against Shore and Lee as well.

I’m loving these updates Alex, this is great stuff.
It’s going to be tough justifying keeping Huby off the big club next season.
Much appreciated.

The nice part is we’ll have a good idea who is expendable by the end of the season to make room for him. Management will have a much better idea of what it is they actually have by then.

Comrie
Looks liek the team is releasing him. He went on $100 waivers… AKA buyout waivers today.
Can’t be…have a link?

I am a bit perplexed on this one.
A lil thunder and a lil lightning is what the Cats are going to bring this year.

The team is at 49 contracts on the 50 reserve list, so maybe Tallon is trying to have a few spares in case a trade comes up…

There’s got to be some back story we don’t know. That’s way random.

Again I ask, with similar numbers, why is Foster staying up and Plante being sent down? And I actually liked Comrie. Strange to get rid of your leading scorer. And I’ve lived in Cincy. There’s not much you can do to get in trouble there.
It’s only for two games while Clemmensen is there. Apparently they wanted Foster to start today, so it’s Plante who goes.

For anyone else who has a cable/satellite package with too many channels
Keep an eye on the college sports channels. Goldie mentioned the Minnesota – ND game was on last night, so I watched the second and third periods. Good game and Bjugstad, Rau and Grimaldi all had goals. That was on the Big Ten network, which comes on the DIRECTV tier that also has Versus. There’s at least one more if not two more college sports channels on that tier. I’m going to keep a closer eye on it in the future.
