NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 11: Henrik Lundqvist #30 of the New York Rangers and Tomas Kopecky #82 of the Florida Panthers keep an eye on the loose puck in front of the net at Madison Square Garden on December11, 2011 in New York City. Rangers defeated the Panthers 6-1. (Photo by Mike Stobe/Getty Images)

"Meanwhile, the other big surprise team in the league is only just beginning to get a measure of the praise Minnesota has, and it seems very odd. The Florida Panthers are, despite getting pumped pretty good last night by the Rangers, just two points back of the conference lead."

- Puck Daddy's Ryan Lambert

Not much to see up there, but buried deep within that dark & disturbing video is Erik Gudbranson's first NHL goal at the 2:10 mark.

Why last night rocked:

  • No other Eastern clubs were in action. Four Panthers actually finished with a plus-1. Clemmer (11 saves) was superb in relief of Theodore.

Why last night jonesed:

  • Five crawled out of MSG with a minus-2 or worse. With exception of Clemmensen, it was a bad night all around. Move on.

Why tonight is a Big Deal:

  • New Jersey at Tampa Bay, 7 p.m.

Next up for the Cats:

  • Tuesday vs New Jersey; LBC Game Thread asks where you're gonna put a tree that big at 7 p.m.
